At Dawn is an exhibition catalogue created for a fictional exhibition for which I developed both the visual identity and the curatorial concept. It brings together emerging creatives from around the world, united in their depiction of a modern dystopia.
The exhibition explores self-representation in the age of social media through the animations of Stephen Vuillemin and offers a renewed vision of love in the modern world through the songs of Meaningful Stone. It questions the ethics of an AI-driven future with experiments led by Tomo Kihara, where, as author Choi Jinyoung suggests, poverty shapes our choices.
Despite ongoing conflicts affecting populations, as documented by the Russian photographer Paizuka Komarov, At Dawn confronts the Museum Frieder Burda’s peace and quiet to youthful perspectives in the face of suffocating dystopian narratives.
The catalogue’s narrow format and condensed typeface, whose irregular weights distribution is echoed in the design of the margins reinforce a sense of tension and unease. The palette of complementary red and green contrasts with black and white creates visual intensity while allowing the featured artworks to remain at the centre of the reading experience.
